Man Utd's Ferguson sends FA response for ref rant

The Football Association has received contact from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson regarding his comments towards a match official last weekend.

The United boss blasted referee Chris Foy and assistant referee Simon Beck after they failed to award a penalty to Wayne Rooney when was brought down in the area by Steven Caulker in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Ferguson mainly criticised the performance of Beck and was asked to explain his comments to the FA which he has since done with the association to decide whether or not to formally charge Ferguson.
