Jonny Evans was delighted to be back on the pitch as Northern Ireland defeated Finland 2-1 on Sunday.
The Manchester United defender is currently serving a six-match club ban but is free to play for his country which he also did in the midweek loss to Scotland in Glasgow.
Evans led the defence in the Euro2016 qualifying win over the Finns which has Northern Ireland in a very strong position on the Group F table as they sit just a point behind leaders Romania after five fixtures.
"It was great to be out there and especially to get the win," he told Sky Sports after Kyle Lafferty netted both goals in Belfast.
"We ground out the result and Kyle scored two great goals.
"It puts us in a really good position going into June, we play Romania here and it'll be a top-of-the-group clash."
