Manchester United will rival Manchester City for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis.

The Sun says United sent scouts to cast an eye over Luis during Benfica's emphatic 4-0 win over Braga before the international break, with the 20-year-old winning a penalty leading to the first goal.

But City are also keeping tabs on Luis and both Manchester clubs could move in for Luis in January.

Although he is yet to receive a call-up to the senior national team, there are high hopes for Luis, and thus Benfica have a release clause totalling £91million in his contract.
