Fulham failed with a massive offer for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard on deadline day.

The Sunday Mirror says Fulham's double raid on Manchester United could have been a triple swoop - but David Moyes blocked a £5million bid for midfielder Lingard.

Cottagers chief Rene Mulensteen wanted to take England Under-21 star Lingard having done a £3m deal for midfielders Ryan Tunnicliffe and Larnell Cole.

But Moyes refused to sanction the Warrington-born player's release.
