Manchester United have not given up on signing Tottenham defensive midfielder Eric Dier.

Despite signing Nemanja Matic in the summer, it seems United want another person in that position for next season. And Dier is their man of choice.

But it would take a massive fee in excess of £50 million for Spurs to even consider selling their English asset.

Dier was open to the move in the summer, and he would want to make the switch to United if a fee is agreed.

But he will not push for a move, and that will work against United in this pursuit.
