Manchester United are undecided on whether they need to sign a centre-back this summer.

The Red Devils have pulled out of the race to sign Leicester City star Harry Maguire.

And the Manchester Evening News says the United brass are beginning to question whether they need to sign a centre-back at all.

The news will come as a shock to United supporters, who watched their side ship in 54 goals last season.

It was their worst defensive showing since the 1978/79 campaign.

The club are believed to have enquired about a number of target, without establishing concrete interest in any single player.
