Manchester United newboy Bruno Fernandes says he was buoyed his conversations with Cristiano Ronaldo.
The two are good friends and teammates for the Portuguese national team.
It appears Bruno had a word with Ronaldo when he first entered the scene with the national setup.
And it appears to have been a positive conversation, as he has gone from strength to strength ever since, including earning the big money move to United from Sporting CP in January.
Speaking to Cronache Di Spogliatoio, Fernandes said: "He welcomed me very well to the Portugal national team.
"We look at him as an idol, he has always been an idol for me. I followed his example, he is one of my favourites.
"When I was called up by Portugal, he came to me saying, 'You are doing a good job at Sporting, I like it'. Words like these make the difference."
