Man Utd No2 Phelan makes new check on Birmingham teen Bellingham

Manchester United assistant manager Mike Phelan has made a second check on Birmingham City teen Jude Bellingham.

The Sun says United aim to stay on the trail of Birmingham starlet Bellingham, 16.

United coach Phelan has again checked on the midfielder, though Blues do not plan to lose him in the near future.

Birmingham gave Bellingham an early start to life in the Football League with a debut in August less than two months after his 16th birthday.

On his home bow, the Stourbridge-born starlet netted a winner past Stoke to make himself the club's youngest-ever scorer.

Such form earned a call-up to England's Under-17 side and interest from top clubs.
