Memphis Depay is well aware that he is nowhere near the level of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Dutchman, who will join Manchester United from PSV Eindhoven this summer, has already been compared to Real Madrid star Ronaldo who rose to prominence during his time at Old Trafford.

However, Holland international Depay knows that he has to do a lot of hard work before he can really be mentioned in the same breath as the Portuguese ace.

"I heard (QPR and Holland midfielder) Leroy Fer speak about it and it is great to hear that from other players," he added.

"If you read it in the media, it is great, but I am 21 and I have not reached the level of Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He is a big hero for me and one day I hope to reach that level. He scores so many goals and I want to fight to be one of the best players in the world."
