Man Utd name Champions League squad with THREE big omissions

Manchester United have left senior defensive pair Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo off their Champions League list.

Goalkeeper Sergio Romero has also missed the cut.

New signing from Penarol Facundo Pellistri has been included in the 25-man squad, alongside Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles.

Lee Grant has been preferred over the Argentine shot-stopper along with Dean Henderson, who returned to United in the summer from Sheffield United.

United were drawn in Group H of the Champions League, and face a difficult task against Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir.

Man Utd Champions League Squad:

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Lee Grant, Dean Henderson

Defenders: Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Alex Telles, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe

Midfielders: Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Dan James, Facundo Pellestri, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay

Forwards: Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Odion Ighalo

*Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood are eligible, after being included on the B List.
