Man Utd move to trump Chelsea for Cavani signing

Manchester United chiefs are making a move for PSG striker Edinson Cavani.

The Daily Express says United are interested in signing want-away striker Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain.

United are keen to find a short-term replacement for Marcus Rashford, who faces a long spell on the sidelines through injury. But, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea for his signature.

United expressed an interest in the Uruguay international after he submitted a transfer request on Sunday night.

Solskjaer's interest was peaked after PSG sporting director Leonardo confirmed that Atletico Madrid had already made a bid for Cavani.
