Manchester United are pushing very hard to land Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.

The Argentine centre-back is a key defensive target for new boss Erik ten Hag, who knows him from his Ajax days.

According to Goal, Martinez was also wanted by Arsenal, but they appear behind United in the race at present.

Ajax want a guaranteed fee of at least €50 million and have not accepted any bids.

However, Martinez is pressing Ajax to agree a deal with United, as he wants to play in the Premier League.

United are hoping to have an agreement with the Dutch club in the coming days.
