Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has made contact with Manchester City about the prospect of moving to the Etihad.
Off contract in June, Pogba has been linked with a move across town.
But the Athletic reports Pogba is not prepared to swap United for City because there is an offer on the table from a different club which he prefers.
Pogba's team have let City know that he does not intend to join them, although there hasn't been a final decision.
The 29-year-old is set to leave Old Trafford when his contract runs out. His second spell at the club, following a then world record move worth £89million in 2016, has not going according to plan.
Pogba has failed to deliver and struggled for consistency as the Red Devils have continued to underperform following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.
