Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic accepts last season was not up to standards.

As well as hoping for a better individual performance next season, Matic is determined to help the team better our sixth-placed finish from 2018/19.

“It was not a good season for all of us, as we know," he said. "Our target in the end was to play in the Champions League but we didn't make it.

“This season, we know we have to do better and do more, because when you play for Man United you have to fight for trophies and we know that. We expect this season to do better, every one of us, and I'm sure we will be ready for every challenge."
