Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata says it's important to use the international break to reflect on defeat at Manchester City.

Mata wrote for his personal blog: "It is a tough defeat to take because it is a special fixture, one that our fans wait expectantly for.

"We had our chances and the team fought, but they [Manchester City] performed better and there's nothing else to do but congratulate them, aside from focusing on working to improve to make sure that the second league derby of the season will have a different outcome.

"Against Juventus, we managed to get a win that is very important, as it leaves us in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

"As I say, it is the time to analyse what we are doing well and where we have to improve, to make sure we're at our best for the barrage of games that awaits us between now and the end of the year."
