Man Utd midfielder Lingard hails Kazakhstan's football fans: Unbelievable

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard paid tribute to Kazakhstan's football fans after defeat at Astana.

Lingard captained a record youngest United XI for their 2-1 Europa League loss at the Astana Arena.

Afterwards, Lingard said of the local United support: "Yes, it is unbelievable, we felt it as soon as we landed, already at the airport a very warm welcome.

"In such cold and frost, while on the street, we were met by many people when we first reached the hotel.

"They waited to be photographed and get an autograph. It's nice. In addition, our fans at the stadium provided amazing support."

Lingard added: "We expected to win and finish the group stage in first place, this is our main goal: We are Man United and we are here to win the trophy.

"Now the most important thing is to finish in first place in the group."
