Manchester United midfielder Fred credits the coaching staff for helping him through a tough season.

Fred impressed upon his recall for United's dramatic Champions League win at Manchester United.

"It has been a couple of hard months. I haven't played. Many things have crossed my mind. Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) has helped me a lot. He has had many conversations with me. (Michael Carrick) also speaks to me a lot," Fred told ESPN.

"It makes me calm that things will turn around for me. They trust me and I feel confident. And they were right who trusted me (against PSG) because I showed that I can play against one of the best teams in the world and do it well. I'm very, very happy. My self-confidence grows."
