Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is set for a coaching role with the club's U23 side, claims The Mirror.

The report claims that United manager Jose Mourinho highly values Carrick's influence in his team and is prepared to offer him a player-come-coach deal for the next season.

The 35-year-old, who has made 36 appearances for United this season, will be out of contract in the summer.
