Manchester United midfielder Ben Pearson enjoyed a full 90 as Barnsley won their first home game of the season.
Pearson helped the Tykes to a 1-0 triumph over Burton Albion, with Conor Hourihane grabbing the winner from the penalty spot.
United teammate Joe Rothwell was taken off ten minutes after the break, while much-vaunted Arsenal youngster Dan Crowley was thrown on at halftime.
Barnsley boss Lee Johnson stated: "We were flat today. I'm disappointed with the performance but pleased with the result. Make no mistake, Burton are a good side.
"Marc Roberts was solid today. I thought we were solid, generally.
"To be fair to the fans, we must improve and I apologise for that."
