Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants Andreas Pereira to delay a decision on his future.
The Brazilian midfielder has an offer from Fulham to sign on a permanent basis.
However, ESPN states that ten Hag wants to run the rule over Pereira in pre-season before deciding if he should be sold.
United have started pre-season training this week, with ten Hag taking his first session with some of the first team players on Monday.
Fulham have made an offer of £8.6million up front which would go up to £11 million with bonuses for Pereira.
The Brazilian spent last season on loan with Flamengo in Brazil, and had a loan spell with Lazio the previous campaign.
