Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blocked Anthony Elanga from leaving Manchester United on loan this summer.
It was believed Elanga would be loaned out after the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.
A number of Championship clubs had reportedly enquired about the young Swedish forward.
However, The Mirror says Solskjaer vetoed those plans.
The Norwegian believes Elanga's development would be best served by him staying at Old Trafford.
Elanga, 19, will now get to learn off the likes of Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani in training.
