Man Utd manager Solskjaer laughs off question about Real Madrid star Varane

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to comment on the club's pursuit of Raphael Varane.

The Real Madrid and France defender is a key target for the Red Devils.

Media reports in England and Spain indicating a move could be close to completion.

However, Solskjaer is never one to comment on other clubs' players, even if transfer talks are at an advanced stage.

After his side's 2-1 win over Derby County in a preseason friendly, he dismissed Varane-related questions.

Laughing, he said, per The Sun: "Varane? I only speak about players when we sign them."

The Red Devils are expected to complete the signing of Jadon Sancho this week.

Solskjaer confirmed the finishing touches were being put on the £73m transfer.

"From what I understand only paperwork, small little details, hopefully we can announce something," Solskjaer said.

"Let's get all the paperwork done and get him over the line and then I can say what I truly feel about the player."
