Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the club to renew Jesse Lingard's contract.
The attacker, who scored the winner for the Red Devils against West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday, is out of contract this summer.
Lingard can leave on a free in the summer, and may even agree a deal with another club in January.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Solskjaer is directly talking with Lingard about renewing, and is pushing the club to find an agreement.
Romano tweeted: "Manchester United are in direct contact with Jesse Lingard and his father since weeks - still hoping to extend his contract after opening proposal not accepted. Solskjaer is pushing directly with the player.
"He's in the 'contracts list' with Bruno, Pogba and Shaw."
