Man Utd manager Rangnick reiterates 'show up' stance on Rashford

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has reiterated that Marcus Rashford must do more to get into the team.

The Red Devils academy graduate is out of favour at the club after a series of poor displays since coming back from injury earlier in the campaign.

Rashford was on the bench for the 3-2 win against Norwich City in the Premier League at the weekend, even though a total of five forwards were playing in the starting line-up.

Rangnick has previously stated that Rashford needed to 'show up' in order to improve his playing time, and the German repeated those sentiments ahead of the United's game against Liverpool on Tuesday.

"I had to decide between him and Anthony Elanga today," Rangnick explained, per Manchester Evening News.

"I think Anthony, not only did he do well when he prepared the first goal, but he also played for the first time in his career as a right-back and did well the last 20 minutes.

"The way he defended, he won most of the balls on his side in those 20 minutes and then Marcus came on those last 25 minutes into the game.

"That's how it is and quite like all the other players he just has to show up."
