Manchester United manager Gary Nevile would prefer Mauricio Pochettino over Erik ten Hag as the club's new manager.
Ten Hag is now the firm favourite to takeover at Old Trafford after being interviewed by the Premier League club this week.
Neville tweeted: "Reports Ten Hag has been interviewed this week. If formal interviews have started and with it being such a public process I would expect a new manager announcement within a week or so."
He added: "Personally I would go for Pochettino but Ten Hag is the massive favourite of United fans to take the club forward. That's if it is a clear choice between the 2."
Pochettino has Premier League experience having coached Southampton and Tottenham.
However, ten Hag is viewed as a progressive manager who can take the club forward for the long-term.
