Man Utd make loan decisions for Mengi and Garner

Manchester United plan to loan out Teden Mengi and James Garner again next season.

The Manchester Evening News says Derby boss Wayne Rooney is keen to keep Mengi on loan for another year, while Nottingham Forest are eager to secure Garner's services for next season.

Mengi, who recently celebrated his 19th birthday, played nine times for Derby after joining them on January transfer deadline day, helping Rooney's men stay in the Championship by the skin of their teeth.

Garner enjoyed even greater success at Forest following his loan switch from Watford in January, immediately breaking into the first team at the City Ground and winning admirers with his midfield displays.

Garner, 20, scored four goals in 20 Forest appearances to prompt interest from Chris Hughton in tying him down for an extra year on loan.

It's understood Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering bringing both players into his first team squad at United following their loan stints. But both could also head out on loan again, depending on the depth Solskjaer is able to add in their respective positions.
