Man Utd loanee Brown enjoying Oldham first team action

On-loan Manchester United midfielder Reece Brown is eager for more first-team action at loan club Oldham. Brown, the younger brother of Sunderland defender Wes, sealed a loan move to the League One club on Friday.

"On Thursday night (United reserve team manager) Warren Joyce phoned me after training and said would I like to come down here for a few games," the 20-year-old said. "It wasn't a move I was going to turn down because I need to play first team football and I think I'm getting to that age where I need to start playing."

Just 24 hours later he played a key role as Oldham overcame a 2-0 half-time deficit to triumph 3-2, and Brown admitted the pace of the game took some getting used to.

"It was a good game, obviously we went 2-0 down but the lads all had courage, we believed in ourselves and in the second half we just worked hard and played better than we did in the first to get the three goals," he added.

"When I started off I was a bit nervous. It was obviously completely different to reserve level football. I thought it was going to be the same but I was wrong, players were closing me down when I was on the ball. I think second half I was a lot more composed on the ball and felt a lot better."
