Danny Ings is seriously considering leaving Southampton this summer.

The Telegraph says Saints hope to make him the best paid player on their books but the England star is taking his time to ensure he has the best possible chance to realise his ambitions.

The report is opening the door for clubs like Manchester United to make a possible offer in the summer and it could be that a return to Anfield is suggested as a possibility.

Jurgen Klopp is known to still be a big fan of his former frontman and Ings never really got a chance to show what he was capable of as he was hampered with injuries during his time with the current Premier League champions.

However, it's not certain if the Reds boss would welcome an opportunity to bring Ings back to Merseyside.

Ings most recently scored the only goal in Southampton's 1-0 win against Liverpool earlier this month.
