Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic insists David Moyes' problems had nothing to do with him.

The 34-year-old spent eight years with the Red Devils having been signed from Spartak Moscow by Sir Alex Ferguson. But he ended his trophy-laden stint in England under something of a cloud to join Serie A giants Inter Milan in 2014.

"The decision was made before David left," he told Four Four Two. "I felt it was time to leave. I didn't push for a new contract.

"I had injuries and felt my body wasn't the same as it was when I was younger.

"I saw that the car was running down and the brake wasn't working properly."
