Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has no regrets over his retirement.
Scholes made his decision towards the end of the campaign and announced it officially 48 hours after his final sub appearance against Barcelona in the Champions League final.
So after relaxing and spending a three week holiday in Portugal with his family has the midfielder considered a U-turn on retirement?
"I haven't changed my mind and will not," he replied emphatically in the Manchester Evening News.
"I thought it would feel weirder than it does. But I never liked this time of year anyway. I hated going on pre-season tours.
"It just feels nice at the moment. I might feel a bit different once the season starts I am not sure but I don't think I will.
"There hasn't been one moment when I thought I'd made a mistake. The last six months I hadn't felt great physically. I just need to think of the way I felt and realise I made the right decision. I knew the time was right."
