Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson turned down a cameo role in a new movie about Sir Matt Busby.

The Daily Express says Ferguson was asked to feature in a film charting the life of Sir Matt Busby, but won't be making an appearance.

The former Old Trafford boss turned down the opportunity, as he's already currently involved in his own movie project, according to the Mirror.

Ferguson's omission from the Busby film is somewhat surprising, given their close relationship during the start of the Scot's career at United.

He had a difficult first few years in west Manchester, and Busby would often give Ferguson advice and guidance on how to move forward.

Fergie is already busy with the production of another film, which will document his own career.

Ferguson's project has been ongoing for around two years, and it's believed the film will be directed by his son, Jason.
