Man Utd legend Charlton urges England players to leave everything on field

Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has urged England's players to leave everything on the field against Germany today.

In his column for the Mail on Sunday, World Cup winner Charlton wrote: "England supporters will be devastated if Fabio Capello's team fail to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup by losing to Germany in Bloemfontein this afternoon.

"But as long as the team have stretched every sinew and used up every last ounce of effort and energy, they will accept it. What they will not accept is excuses.

"This team have had every help they have needed to show they can take on the best in the world and win. Which is why complaints about the boredom of being cocooned in the training camp or deprived of the frequent company of their nearest and dearest will not go down well with the fans if England lose."
