Man Utd leave Sheffield Utd hanging over Henderson availability

Manchester United have left Sheffield United hanging over the availability of Dean Henderson.

The Manchester Evening News says United are yet to make a decision on whether Henderson will be allowed to finish this season with Sheffield United.

The goalkeeper's loan spell with the Blades expires on June 30 and while Premier League have given permission for such deals to be extended, the two clubs remain locked in talks.

Henderson has enjoyed another excellent season at Bramall Lane and Chris Wilder is keen to keep hold of the 23-year-old, but an extension to that loan deal is yet to be agreed, which raises the possibility of the academy graduate returning to Old Trafford in July with the Premier League season yet to be finished.

The issue is complicated by the fact that the two clubs are separated by just two points and are competing for a place in next season's Champions League, with Sheffield United able to leapfrog United if they win their game in hand against Aston Villa on June 17.
