Man Utd keeper De Gea writes off Real Madrid as destination

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has wrote off Real Madrid as a destination.

The Manchester Evening News says De Gea has ended thoughts of a move to Real Madrid.

De Gea has been a long-term target for Real president Florentino Perez - and was on the verge of a move to the Bernabeu in 2015.

Only an administrative error on deadline day prevented him from realising his dream to play for the Spanish giants.

He has since refused to agitate for a move, despite ongoing interest from Real - and his relationship with United's fans has been a key factor in his decision to give up on the chance to head there in what could be his last opportunity this summer.
