Manchester United have emerged as favourites to land Palmeiras attacker Gabriel Veron.

Sport says United have stolen a march on Manchester City and Barcelona in the race to sign Palmeiras forward Veron.

United are favourites to sign the youngster having worked behind the scenes to secure his signature.

The 18-year-old has netted eight goals in 33 games for his club.

Any move away from Brazil is likely to happen this summer.
