Manchester United are joining the Bosman battle for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.

Calciomercato.com says United boss Louis van Gaal has made it a priority to sign a world class midfielder this summer and Khedira fits the bill.

Kevin Strootman has long-been the Dutchman's top target, but Khedira is also on his radar.

The German World Cup winner is out of contract at the end of the season.
