Manchester United signing Harry Maguire will not block the development of Axel Tuanzebe.
The young centre-back enjoyed a successful loan spell at Aston Villa last season, winning promotion to the Premier League.
The academy graduate is hoping that he gets a first team opportunity, but that could prove difficult if United spend a record fee on Leicester's Maguire.
The Manchester Evening Newssays United believe that if Tuanzebe impresses his manager in pre-season, he will earn a first team spot.
Maguire arriving would not change that. If anything, one of the club's senior defenders would leave in such a situation.
The likes of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo could be on the chopping block this summer.
