Man Utd injury list still a cause for concern for LVG

Louis van Gaal acknowledges that his Manchester United squad has a tough job on it's hands ahead of the final two or so months of the season.

The Red Devils still have 11 players on their injury list as they continue to deal with a hectic schedule which sees them in the FA Cup quarter-finals as well as the Europa League Round of 16 as they strive to finish top four on the Premier League table.

Anthony Martial and Matteo Darmian gave van Gaal some sort of respite when returning from their respective woes for Wednesday night's 1-0 win over Watford but van Gaal remains cautious of his injury-riddled squad.

"You can see the statistics of how many players are already injured and from what date," van Gaal said.

"Then you can see how difficult it was and we are still in the possibility of being in the first four of the league.

"I don't think that's bad and we are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, I think that's not bad, and in last 16 of the Europa League, so that's not bad (either).

"But it also means it's a full programme. When you see our matches, still 20 to go, we have already 40 matches played. It is 60 matches.

"When I was trainer-coach of Bayern Munich, we played 55 matches and we played then the final of the Champions League.

"Then still we have to look for two matches, Crystal Palace and West Ham United, so it's very difficult to fulfil the expectation."
