Manchester United's injury list grew on Thursday night when David De Gea was withdrawn from their Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland.
The Spanish goalkeeper injured his knee in the warm-up and had to be replaced in the starting XI by Sergio Romero.
It was the latest in a long line of injured Red Devils players that now sits at 13 including captain Wayne Rooney, key summer signing Bastian Schweinsteiger and promising left-back Luke Shaw.
Regarding the injury sustained by De Gea, manager Louis van Gaal was unaware the extent of the damage but said the 25-year-old would be sent for a scan on Friday.
"It happened in the warm up," he said. "We have to wait and see for the scan tomorrow, then maybe we can say more but it was a big surprise."
