Man Utd inform Pogba of NO new contract plans

Manchester United have told Paul Pogba they won't be making another new contract offer.

The Daily Star says United have given up hope of keeping Pogba after seeing him reject the offer of a bumper new deal.

One option would be to sell him to the highest bidder in the January transfer window, but Old Trafford bosses would prefer to keep him until the summer to give them more time to find his replacement.

United have targeted England and Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips, but know it would be impossible to sign him during the middle of the current campaign.

Pogba's current deal runs out at the end of this season and United are comfortable about letting him go on a free transfer.

Failing to get a fee for the French enigma was factored into the £90m deal when United re-signed him from Juventus back in 2016.

United bosses worked out how much Pogba would cost them per annum in terms of fees and wages - and decided the risk of losing him for nothing was worth the risk at the time.
