Manchester United are in contact with agents for Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.

BILD says the Germany international has entered the final year of his contract.

And United have made enquiries to his agent over his situation.

The former Schalke star has become an integral part of the team at the Allianz Arena but Bayern are aware that his contract situation could see a repeat of what happened with David Alaba.

Despite the Austria international also being an important member of the squad, the defender's terms were allowed to dwindle into its final six months and he will sign for Real Madrid for free.

However, Goretzka loves being at Bayern Munich and would prefer to stay if that was the option.

But the 26-year-old is also open to offers if an agreement cannot be reached with the Bundesliga champions.
