Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson isn't surprised by the explosion of Premier League wages and transfer fees.
Speaking at UEFA's annual Elite Club Coaches Forum in Switzerland, Ferguson believes it was inevitable since the day the Premier League struck its £5billion television deal.
"The TV deal struck two years ago in the Premier League created a situation where the obvious thing was transfer values and salaries were going to go up," said former United boss Ferguson.
"It is quite correct in terms of players' salaries. They are the people providing the product that people want to see, in the Premier League in particular.
'The minute the deal was struck, obviously, a lot of things were going to increase."
