Former Manchester United winger Ben Thornley says it's fair to liken Bruno Fernandes with Eric Cantona.
Thornley was at United when Cantona played for the club and can understand the comparison.
He told the Manchester Evening News: "When you sign players at Man United, it usually takes a while [for them to settle].
"When you think about the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was a raw talent when he came to United, he honed that talent under Sir Alex Ferguson. So even he didn't take off straight away.
"So I think in giving the whole squad an instant lift, I think the comparison is fair, and it's something very difficult coming to a club like United.
"It's a hell of a name to live up to for Fernandes, in Eric Cantona, but they will be spoken about in the same breath in terms of that immediate impact."
