Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand is very impressed with the work that Mason Greenwood is putting into bulking up his body.

While Greenwood has mostly featured for United as a right-winger, his future likely lies at centre-forward.

He impressed in the role in the 5-1 win over Leeds United at Old Trafford last weekend, scoring a goal and showcasing his excellent link up play.

"I saw some of the stuff in that game where I know some of the coaches and people behind the scenes at Man United are saying this isn't a surprise," Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

"It has just been waiting to happen in the first team and his body is catching up.

"He knows what he needs to do, but Wayne Rooney when he came into the first team was a man already."
