Manchester United new boy Bruno Fernandes will inspire Paul Pogba to do even better.
That is according to club legend Rio Ferdinand.
The former United defender and TV pundit believes adding a player like Fernandes to the midfield not only takes some of the pressure off Pogba, but will give him more space to show his quality.
United concluded a deal for Fernandes with Sporting CP before the transfer window closed.
"I think it can only enhance someone like him [Pogba]. Someone who has got something to play for, by the way," Ferdinand told his YouTube channel.
"This summer is the Euros, and he's going to want to be a part of this French team that are probably the favourites.
"He will want to be playing there, I know the type of guy he is.
"He's a competitor, he's a winner, and we want to see that in a Man Utd shirt. He will have that appetite to perform for Man Utd, even if he's using that to get into the French team, Man Utd have to actually take that and take it on board.
"The Man Utd midfield of (Scott) McTominay, Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, that's got a nice ring to it."
