Manchester United are prepared to meet Leicester City's evaluation of Harry Maguire in the January transfer window.
Maguire was a primary target during the summer transfer window but United bulked at the Foxes' asking price.
Subsequently, Leicester rewarded the England international with an improved five-year contract.
But that hasn't stopped United's interest in Maguire and they believe his desire to play Champions League football would entice him to Old Trafford.
According to Evening Standard, the Red Devils are now prepared to meet Leicester's evaluation given their current struggles in defence.
Reports have claimed United boss Jose Mourinho will have up to £75m to spend in January, but player requests from the Portuguese will still be vetoed if the club believe that they do not fit the right age or value profile.
