Manchester United great Gary Pallister has recalled the day he was knifed by one of his own.
Speaking on MUTV, Pallister recalled some advice he received from former United manager Tommy Docherty upon signing for the club from Middlesbrough.
The Doc, then working as a radio pundit, met Pallister not long after the defender arrived at Old Trafford in 1989 and warned him to be on his guard as there are always people who will stab you in the back.
Thinking this was just friendly advice, Pallister took it on board only for the Doc to appear on the radio the following week claiming Pally wasn't worth the money United had spent on him!
"Turns out it was the Doc with the knife!" laughed Pallister last night.
