Manchester United could be given the green light to go after Sporting Lisbon ace William Carvalho according to the The Mirror.
The Red Devils are being heavily linked with a £37.5million move for the 21-year old Angola-born Portuguese midfielder who has played once for Portugal.
It is believed that Sporting have identified Estoril's Goncalo as a potential replacement for Carvalho meaning they could offload him in the summer for a massive fee.
United boss David Moyes has sent scouts to watch Carvalho no less than eight times this season but is reportedly looking to negotiate a smaller transfer fee than the aforementioned release clause.
