Man Utd fullback Varela axed by Eintracht Frankfurt after tattoo farce

Manchester United defender Guillermo Varela is in hot water at loan club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Varela has been ruled out of the DFB-Pokal final - after his new tattoo got infected.

He has been suspended by the Bundesliga club following the revelations.

He has subsequently likely played his last game for Eintracht and is expected to return to Old Trafford.

Varela, 24, picked up the problem after going against club advice by getting his new body art.

"His behaviour was reckless and hurts the team," sporting executive Fredi Bobic said in a statement .

"Guillermo's path at Eintracht ends here. The club can't put up with a player acting against the coach's and doctors' instructions.

"We were already considering extending his loan. But that's naturally no longer an issue. Guillermo will be suspended with immediate effect."
