Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra is convinced the French Football Federation are waging a personal vendetta against him.
Evra, 29, was given a five-game ban for his part in the players' mutiny during France's disastrous summer World Cup campaign.
The Manchester United left-back was captain when the squad infamously refused to train and it resulted in a massive public bust-up between Evra and fitness coach Robert Duverne.
His appeal against the ban was rejected by the French Football Federation.
And Evra said: "I cannot fight with everyone. I'm in pain right now.
"Certain people want to cut my head off and they are managing to do it at the moment. It's hard because I still don't know why I've been condemned."
